Rendering of 2013 X5..

Rendering of new X5: http://www.caradvice.com.au/164879/b...eneration-suv/

Wonder if proposed diesel hybrid may find its way into X3?

I hate the new front on the new BMW's. The hood is way to low at the front and it lowers to quickly. Besides the hood should end with the top of the kidneys, not 2" before with an ugly line that breaks up the impression. Glad the X3 is true to my opinion with large kidneys and a pretty hood that reaches all the way

I don't want the new X5 to have a front like this...

That picture looks like somebody cut and pasted the front end of the F30 onto a X5.

X5 designs have always had a unique design, and never just a copycat of the 3 series. I doubt the X5 will look like this.

Kinda looks like new Durango with BMW face. I hope it's just a rendering.

Even M-Sport can't salvage that front and those headlights are bleh.

What's with that line? It's so stark and draws the eye so easily. X3 is better, but for me it'd have been even better if it were able to include the kidneys. Wonder if it's got anything to do with front end damage too easily involving the whole hood?

My theory is that it has something to do with pedestrian safety. You know where the hood pops up in the back end to soften the hit for a person. It's probably the only way to be sure that nothing prevents the hood from popping up...

But hey... In the end of the day, what do I know?

Yes, I've heard the hood line is like that on the 3 series apparently due to new European safety standards. It is ugly indeed.

That's a pretty lowsy render... that said, it seems like competitors are putting out much classier and elegant designs these days than BMW. The current X5 is good looking, hopefully they don't bung it up.

I have heard this also. My question is, how many pedestrians are being hit??? Either someone needs to learn to drive or someone needs to learn to walk... another example of a stupid law in the name of safety.
