GLONASS

So since today in the morning GLONASS is globally operational. Request to BMW: Create a plug-in module (for free of course! ) so that we can use GLONASS for the navi in our X3. Shouldn't be awfully hard, as e.g. the iPhone 4S already is GLONASS capable. |

what does GLONASS do that GPS doesn't?

According to iPhone 4S users the precision is increased when both systems are used.
I think in Northern Europe and Canada and Alaska the increased number of satellites could increase precision. Also there might be situations where Navstar is jammed or artificially distorted, and then GLONASS might still work. |
