Oh? Are you also running the iOS6 beta on your iPhone? I didn't think that the support for Bluetooth MAP was present in the current iOS 5.1.1. |

Excellent! I'll wait until the official release, but I'm interested in knowing how it is working for you. Do emails and messages pop up on your Nav screen as they arrive, or do you have to manually pull them up? Any description that you can provide will be of interest to me. Thanks.

For those that have this working on your X3 (mine is 2011) how did you get emails to show? I can get SMS messages but no matter what I try I cannot get my emails.
I have both the latest software on my X3 as mentioned above and have tried with both Beta 1 and now beta 2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks CR |

Emails haven't shown up for me.
When I first got Beta 1, nothing would show up and the battery life was horrible. Over time battery life got better and SMS started appearing. I'm just hoping that they will eventually show for my X3.

So pardon my ignorance in advance, I have a 2013 X3 but my iDrive does not list Office as an option in the menu, do I just not have the correct hardware onboard, or is there a software update for the iDrive system? I was under the impression that all current BMW's had the combox installed.

Is iOS6 for Iphone 4S and iPhone 5 only or will it be available for iPhone 4 as well? I know the 4S introduced a new chipset

It does work on the iPhone 4. I have it right now on mine. However when the new one comes out I will be picking up the 5 for Siri.

Beta versions are issued so that they can be tested on existing HW but the final released versions may and in this case will need new HW for full functionality.

I am running GM iOS 6.0 on iPhone 4s with the snap-in adapter, and a '12 X3 with the latest software updates (and coding version 47.4).
As of Beta 3 or 4 on iPhone, Bluetooth MAP support was broken. They have fixed it as of the GM release. It doesn't work like you'd think though. Only emails, texts, etc. that come in WHILE you're driving appear in the 'current' office section. Calendar alerts also come in. No unread messages that may be in your inbox, but were received prior to being connected to the vehicle can be read in the current office view. I'd love it if there was a way to set a 'ding' or tone when new messages come into the office section. |
