Hi folks, this is my first post. Hope everyone is doing well.

My ride is a 2015 BMW X3 X28i

I’m posting in regards to a strange noise coming from the engine bay, more specifically from the right side (drivers side) of the engine bay.

The sound occurs in a random manner, and usually begins 30sec-1min after starting the engine (cold start). I’m able to stop the sound by revving the engine a bit between idle and 2500rpm. If I don’t rev the engine the sound will continue for a longer while, or until I drive the car. Of note, revving the engine doesn’t change the nature of the sound.

The best I could describe the sound is that it sounds like the buzz we could hear for a few minutes upon turning on the metal halide lamps in high school gyms.

I would like to know where this sound is coming from? Anyone?
