The I love my new X3 and it doesn't have any problems thread!

Picked up our X3 xdrive 35i in April, and have had 7 months of issue free operation (aside from the rpms jumping - which I can live with for the 20 seconds it happens on occasional start-ups). There were a couple of minor irritations of having a first year car...wheel bolt thread change and tpms monitor change that were discovered when we swapped out the 309s...and we learned from those issues so there were none when we put the winter set-up on.

Mileage has been steady at 25 - 26 mpg on the freeway, and city mileage depends on how many times I am stopped for lights or traffic, but is usually over 18 mpg. Performance is spectacular for a crossover, and I still get compliments on the way the X3 looks especially the interior!

There isn't a time I get into the X3 that I don't play with the sport/vdc settings - it is one of my favorite options I just used the navigation yesterday to get to a new restaurant and it got us there flawlessly!

Post on this thread if you are happy with your X3 experience!

I love my X3! My only issues since my June delivery have been with rattles and defective storage tracks which have been replaced. It handles beautifully and has more power than I'll ever need. I'm averaging 22-23 mpg in 1/3 city 2/3 hwy, but I'm sure that I could do better if I didn't have such a heavy foot.

I picked up my x3 in February and for 8 months had ZERO issues. Nav works perfect. Sunroof great. No leaking tailgate. No squeaks creaks chirps whines or other noises. Recently I am victim to the power steering rack issue. (no VSS on mine) but I thought I needed to still say I LOVE my X3 and as soon as I get it back I am sure I will be loving it again. The notion of not buying a car because of a few (in comparison to the whole) issues read about on these threads is ludicrous to me. I love this thread and still love my car. Thanks fedinland for starting this.

Very happy with my X3. Only trouble has been minor. Just hit the 15k oil service. Seem to need an alignment, but all else is happy-happy.

I cannot believe how well this thing drives for a SUV/SAV. I am really pleased with my choice and the few minor things that I have needed to sort in no way distract me from really liking this vehicle.

I can tread carefully on the motorway on a trip with my family and achieve 45 mpg plus. I can get on the twisty roads and still have fun. I can fit loads in the car when I need to. I can enjoy the really smooth ride. I can enjoy the technology of bmw online. I can really enjoy cleaning and polishing and consider it worthwhile. I can be proud I own a car like this. I can no longer worry about snow (I hope!). I can impress my colleagues by saying "what this navigation destination already here. Oh yes I sent it from my iPhone. Doesn't your car do that?". I can enjoy a long drive in the superbly comfortable sport seats. I can now consider the complaints from the back row about lack of space a thing of the past. I can look at owners of a q5 an think at least I still haven fillings. I can be pleased my hard work has meant I am lucky enough to afford one.

I can agree this is a good thread. A few issues cause too much bad press.

Got mine May 25 and have about 6500 kms on it to date. I love the new X3 and that statement is based on coming from an M3 sedan..!!

No problems at all to date. I am very pleased with this car.

9 months old, about 6,000 miles, no problems (other than a random warning that hasn't reoccurred) and love the car, particularly the xenons and DRLs, door handle lights, cabin lights, sunroof, sports seats, how good the auto is, the fuel economy, all the tech, album artwork, Bluetooth streaming, pro nav screen size, Google Send to Car, My BMW Remote app, and most importantly the cool little red/green indicator on the speedo for cruise control Highly recommended.

I'm a little weary about posting here just in case........ - but 5,000 km in 3 months with no major problems. Did have a creaking drivers seat, but even that seems to have fixed itself up a week or so ago. The ride, performance and general comfort - its everything I was hoping for with our first BMW.

I bought my 11 35i in early August and have logged 8000 mi. since purchase. 4000 of those miles were on a recent X-country trip to the midwest and back to So. Cal.. I averaged 72.5 mph and 24.3 mpg for the entire trip. I have had "0" problems and dearly love driving the car. The last leg of my recent trip was from Santa Fe, NM to Ventura, CA is 925 mi. which was driven in 12.5 hrs including gas stops with no driver fatigue. It is almost as much fun to drive as my 10 Z4 35i. I believe in "Old School Maint." and changed the oil and filter @ 1500 mi and again @ 8000 mi. and the way the oil looked after the second change(6500 mi) there is no way I would go 15000 mi on an oil change, but that is just me. My good friend who is a long time BMW tech says that 15K is OK. I love both my BMW's and would have a third if I could justify it.

Sort of related to this thread . . .

A fun day was following a Porsche Cayenne GTS. The Porsche drove quickly and had a nice line through traffic so I followed. Porsche thought it was really fast and became frustrated when I kept up with its accelerations. Got annoyed and tried to break away. Of course, we're actually after so it couldn't. Got so frustrated it lowed adjacent to other traffic to block me -- only option left to it.

I like that the X3 is stealth-fast!

How do you know what the Porsche driver was feeling? I've never understood when people say such things.

I don't know. I assessed based on the behavior I observed -- something everyone does with the people around them everyday whether in person, on the phone, through chats, or in cars.

And the point was really a simple one -- that it was fun to have a fast car that doesn't really look like one. Doesn't seem so bad to me. Bottom line, my car is good and has no significant problems!

I've read it a thousand times on car forums. "The dude in the other car was totally pissed that he couldn't pull away from me!"

It always occurred to me that the other guy might not have even known he was racing. He was just driving in his car the way he always does but ends up the subject of some car forum. Unless you saw his face or he flipped you the bird, how can you tell? Either that or he was enjoying some fast car driving camaraderie and didn't see it as a challenge. I've driven at beyond-legal speeds with strangers in other cars, and we kept pace with one another, but I was never trying to drop them and I didn't feel frustrated or angry. It was actually more fun having someone tailing me. Puzzling.

Yes, but you didn't see the reaction. I see your point, generally, but that wasn't the situation here. Interesting how much you're willing to assume I erred on and grant to the other driver.
