Turbocharger mod for 28i

Is it a good idea? I don't know if anyone have tried it on their cars.
80 to 100+ hp sounds like a great improvement.

I haven't seen any turbo kits for the inline 6….the cost is going to be ridiculous, and your warranty will be gone (on the drivetrain and related parts). I would think getting the 35i would be a more cost effective way to get the power you want, jmho.

yeah for about $2,500 more in the US (when comparing cars with the same options) you can get a 35i, I would rather do that and have the BMW warranty for 4 years...

or wait for the new i4 turbo to come out and spend $1,000 on a cpu upgrade that I bet could put it near 270 HP and give similar performance to a 35i, less issues with warranty if you did something like that.

I would personally never do an engine mod, not worth it unless you have a ton of free cash and don't car if the warranty is voided. I looked into getting a cpu mod for my C63, to get around 500 HP, but it just wasn't worth it, you hardly see any huge performance gains in real life (just on paper). Once the car is out of warranty (or paid off), have fun with it!
