Let use know if you were able to code the M logo on startup... I couldn't find anyway to do that on my X3.

tonight going to try to add the M Performance Logo instead of BMW logo on the instrument cluster - apparently this is a bit hit or miss model to model if it works or not - probably depends if the logo file is loaded into the cluster or not.

If you haven't done any coding yet, highly recommended and reasonably easy to setup and use!

Picked up the X3 Saturday and started coding Sunday, realized I needed 49.3 data file, so again Shawn helped me out.

E-sys is much easier to setup and use than INPA and now my wife is happy that everything works as it should (and like I coded on the X5).

Where can I get a list of these variables to change? The initial cheatsheet is very limited...

I'm curious about what the M Speedo is too.
For entertainment in HUD:

KOMBI:3000:HUD_ENTERTAINMENT_ENABLE = aktiv

You can also have your cell phone pop up in there for recent # dialed and incoming call:

KOMBI:3000:HUD_TELEFONANRUF_ENABLE = aktiv (incoming call info)
KOMBI:3000:HUD_TELEFONBUCH_ENABLE = aktiv (recent phone call list)

RE: Coding Help in Toronto, Ontario

Hello fellow board members.

I have a 2012 X3 35i M package and wanted to know if someone can message me a contact of someone in the Toronto area that can assist me in doing the coding.

With thanks,

M3 Speedo is in the Kombi and puts a digital speedometer in the area where you get your average MPG, Distance to empty etc below the speedometer. It adds Digital MPH as on of the choices when you cycle through. I like it a lot on my 335 having an exact number readout to look at, but with the HUD in the X3, it isn't as useful.

I turned on the HUD setting for entertainment and telephone and blinkers, have not got them to work on testing - on the F10, there is another setting somewhere, in the CAS or Kombi you also have to turn on to make it work, so going to see if I can find that today maybe.

This is my favorite setting I have added - for some reason I put my window up or down a lot when getting in and out of the car and it drives me nuts that as soon as you unlatch the door, the window stops moving - this fixes it.

I use a macbook Air to do mine - just VMWare and windows 7 32bit and it works like a top for coding.

For anyone worried about it, e-sys is very easy and user friendly, I have been coding my 335 and X5 for a while and they were much more difficult to get the coding software setup to work and more difficult to work. E-sys is pretty much run setup, copy in data folder and get a token if it is the latest version and it just works.

Coding Options Sheets

For those looking for the coding options sheets, here is the link to the google docs F25 doc - this one is a little more up to date the the pdf on the forum.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...FTE9MS3c#gid=0

It seems the F10 options are the closest to the F25 - more the the F30 options, sometimes you have to look around a bit for the F10 stuff, a few modules are called a bit different - F10 has HU_CIC, we have CIC or HUD and the options are in one of those if HU_CIC on the F10.

F10 Coding doc on Google

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...ZWXlXMHc#gid=0

Otherwise google translate is your friend, when I have some time, I will read out all the modules and put them in a doc and post them up and start translating each line to help us figure out what all the other options are.

Looks like it isn't there, I will search around a bit more, but I did not find anything in the Kombi like on the F30, when I have some time I will read it out and look harder, but at this point it looks like the Kombi is closer to the 5 series than the 3 series and it is a 3 series option.

Oddly enough all the coding stuff is much closer to the 5 series than the 3 series which I did not expect, but I guess it is because the X3 and 5 where developed around the same time and the F30 is a couple years newer so has changed a bit.

Yes - today!

M-Logo on Idrive startup screen - you will only see this after the system goes to sleep and starts backup - until ECU sleeps, it quick starts the nav and doesn't display the splash screen.

Coding it will reboot the Nav screen, so you will see it as soon as you code it the first time.

HU_NBT
3001 exbox, 97
Startup_emblem set to variant_01 (there are 9 choices - apparently you can have it say mini or RR, I just started going through them, variant_00 is normal, first one I tried is M logo, so didn't see what 02-09 are)

Yeah the blinkers were a little bit of work. All of the F10 documentation shows:
KOMBI:3003:BLINKER_HUD_ENABLE = aktiv
HU_NBT:3000:HUD_TURNSIGNAL = aktiv
and then they say it's a selectable option under the HUD in settings. On the newer cars with HU_NBT, the above does nothing. To get the blinkers also code this:
KOMBI:3008:HUD_PIA_BLINKER = aktiv

This turns on blinkers in HUD, but they are coded=on, there is no way to selectively shut them off via i-drive settings.

I would love to see pics/vid of this setting! Does it change the startup screen of the HUD too? Anything different with the kombi display?

I found my HU_CIC/3001 EXBOX, 78 but no Startup_emblem option. HU_NBT was not available. I think they updated the HU_CIC to the HU_NBT. Does anyone know if this is just in the software or a hardware upgrade as well?

Thanks - HUD_PIA_BLINKER did it.

I turned on entertainment and phone info on the HUD, have the checkbox to choose it in settings now, but cannot select it, so back to the drawing board on that.

I have the entertainment and phone in the HUD but no checkbox in the HU_NBT, so it may be like the blinkers and be a non-choosable option.

What did you set to get them in the HUD, the standard F10 settings? Want to check mine.
