Mirror cover a problem for BMW

it's now 20 days since we put an order for a X3 mirror cover, as ours got stolen by the look of thinks in a car park, what worry me is the fact that the part will only reach Germany in April, 1st week and only then it will make it way to Ireland via the UK.
some god dam crazy logistics for a mirror cover, my dealer is doing his best and its beyond them, did any one of you folks experienced this nonsense business.
what worries me is the article on Auto Express back beginning of the year on a UK owner having to wait for over 3 months for a door handle, a 5 series F10 produced in Germany, and yet it took BMW 3 over 3 months, god help this Co when the X3 is a US product the thought of them trying to ship this across the Atlantic scares me.
Any clues, as of now I am waiting for Customer Services to come back to me that is the BMW one, not the dealer one.
I am choked by this for a car of this status.

Did you order an additional spare mirror cover? It seems some one is envy of your X3.

Hopefully you need the left mirror and you own a blue car.

The other one has a dent on it, probably why it was not taken on the 1st place.

Thanks for the link, I did the very same search, after my wife told me about the missing cover, the car is bronze. Colored mirror coveres are either due to owner switching to Chrome ones, or stolen goods, the Dealer told me the paint is done by them, BMW supply the part not painted at 100 euros and paint is completed by the work shop for 30euro, some crazy cash for a cover that so fare is taking more then a month for delivery.

Actually, we have the same wait for many parts in the US. They ship from Germany, not from the factory in SC.

I think is a complete joke, the time it takes for parts specially as small as a mirror cover and not even the finished product since it is down to the dealer to paint it, an article in Auto Express about one UK 5 series owner had to wait for over 3 months for a door handle.
