Horsey, you poor thing! I feel really bad especially after getting your hopes up for delivery coming forward

I can add that the cars are definitely built in batches. When I was tracing mine on WW, every chasis number 10 either side of mine was a RHD 30d.

Hope the factory keeps your car far away from mine
Dont want mine in the North Atlantic !

Considering the build date for your car has been put back a week, I am guessing my order is in a similar state as I have not heard back from the dealer

the wait continues !!

Especially when dnw promised me it would be early ;-)

Can only hope our cars feel an air of superiority when/if they arrive.

Seems there are a number of us here waiting for our cars with similar estimated build dates.

It would be interesting to see how far apart they were built on the production line....does anyone know if there are sequential build numbers so we can see exactly how many cars apart our X3's were apart on the line?

Agree SR40X3, will be interesting to see if all of us have sequential build numbers.
Have you got an update on your build date from the dealer or are you waiting for the build status to change to 5055 too?

Have you checked what build week you are now at?

If I remember you were also wk 16.

I am now wk 18 ...

If we have all been shunted to 18 that would say a lot ...

All I know is that 20Ds went to 5055 ok ... Just the 35D got pushed out two weeks ...

Latest I have is "end of May" bulid but will email them again shortly to get another update.

Dealer goes on to say "early June delivery"......hmmmm, that'll be a fast trip across the Atlantic!

Will post reply to my latest enquiry when I know.

Mine is a 2.0d and so was hoping since it was an est week 16 build, mine would be at 5055 this week. However, not heard anything back from the dealer. I might give them until tomorrow afternoon 3pm (start of US morning shifts) before I give them a call and ask for an update.

SR40X3, an end of May build date is going into Week 21 !! Is the dealer doing his usual "under promise over deliver" spiel? As you say, will have to be a delivery via cargo plane to make the early June delivery.

I know swf....have bought all my BMW's and Mini's from this dealer and they are brilliant so have no reason to think it's spiel.

To be honest when we ordered and were considering Evoque and the like we assumed a September delivery so I am quite relaxed about it all.

Hi swfrom07, hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of sending following email to BMW USA, UK and DE on your behalf ...

"Currently in the USA the interval between order and build of an X3 is often a week or less, with end to end duration of between 2 to 3 weeks. Compare that to the UK and Europe where prospective BMW X3 owners have to wait months and months between placing an order, build taking place and actual delivery. I have seen numerous cases of US orders placed, built and delivered in the intervening time between a UK order being places and still waiting for just the build date. How is it right that that a UK customer should have to wait 2 or 3 months between order and build, but a US customer gets to jump the queue and have a car built almost immediately?"

They assured me they took your comments constructively and bare no prejudice and won't take it out on your order.

Actually the 135i is my better half's car ...

The 135i is lovely, but I suspect my 35d will be just as much fun to drive ... it’s almost as quick I think ... well at least to 60 in a straight line ... and a bit more efficient ...

I won’t be letting her drive my car, not after she has curbed her wheels (she blames me … well I am sure I have contributed) … is that a BMW thing … her Boxter S never used to scratch its wheels …

… of course Top View should help that … but ever since she scratched my Jeeps body work on our wedding day and tried to hide it with some mud …

No, my car is an old Jeep Cherokee and it’s on its way out and will be PX’d for the X3 … although I am thinking it will have to go to the BMW dealer before I take delivery now as it’s MOT expires at the end of May …

*giggle*

I promised the dealer I wouldn’t bother them for a week … but I can’t help but write a little scheduled task to email them “Are we there yet?” every hour …

I thinks that's the wrong question ... You should be wondering if it's going to be a 2014 ...

P.S. 2013 started April 1st, last time I looked it's been ...
