X3's are being made here in the USA, specifically in SC.

Simple, Fly to Munich, order the car, wait 9-months, pick it up and find they shipped a LHD (German standard) car to Germany(duh), remind them you're from GB, send it back, wait another 9-months for the RHD version for export to GB, drive it home. As I said - simple. To truthfully answer: No and probably No.

Seriously, It's a great idea. Pick up at BMW Welt could be a nice adventure. Sounds like something to suggest to your dealership. They might even follow up on it if there's a few quid to be made for the store.

It is possible to pick the car up in Munich atleast for Swedish buyers. Its even in the optionlist although not priced since it depends on airfare etc. You fly down to Munich, spend a few days on the BMW Welt, get a VIP treatment, and your car is presented to you buy german engineers in white coats. Supposed to be very cool and if you are a BMW fan the BMW Welt is awsome. It will affect you deliverytime though..

Men in white coats scare me.
Warning: politically incorrect text follows:
I'd rather have my car presented by a female model in a bikini.

Is this an option now?

May be politically incorrect, but I'd bet it would sell more than a few cars.

They've reached a compromise on this. My car was presented by a very nice young German woman in a blue blazer (the jacket, not the SUV).

For the OP: I would not think there's any problem getting a Munich delivery. You will, of course, have to drive all the way back north on the wrong side of the road.

Thanks for answers, yeah wouldn't we all like the Cars to be handed over by scantily dressed females. Back in the real world, the dealer just told me that UK buyers do not get the option of picking up from Welt. The dealership did tour the Welt and plant last year and put the question as to why this was. The answer came back that it was due to volume. Seems a bit weird to me.
