Lock-to-lock turns: Variable sports and standard steering
Is there any difference in number of lock-to-lock turns between variable sports steering (with servotronic) and standard steering (also with servotronic)?

I would expect it to depend on road speed.
The variable steering turns the wheels further at slower speeds in relation to the steering input, so technically you should experience fewer turns to reach full lock, while the inverse is true at speed. |

The Vatiable Sport Steering isn't an active system. Its progressive. As you progress along the rack the gear pitch chances. This makes the ratio normal at normal driving speed and tight at low speeds where you are using more of the steering rack.

Of course, the result should still be fewer turns to full lock. |

In the "Normal" configuration and at low speed, the steering wheel is very light to move and clearly needs more turns to full lock, which shall not be the case when you turn it into "sport" and stiffens to allow you more control and is more direct. I have not yet tried to see if the effect of the "sport" setting is the same at speeds close to zero, when moving in a parking. |
