Just think about all the extra fuel he's bound to use, using more performance = more fuel even in the official figures don't reveal this. This is really all you can placate yourself with......(me too!).

With the 30D I'm finding I'm arriving at corners at the same speed I did in my 335i vert but the X3, though very good handling, doesn't have the same ultimate cornering speed so I'm pretty close to max grip at times. I need to adjust! The performance of the 30D is leading me on, it's great! The 35D can only be better (and thirstier )

Interesting to see it has a strut brace across the engine bay. Do all X3's have one?

Can't you just order one in Europe and import the car in USA?

In Europe we have specialized companies for importing cars from the USA...

I imagine it would be costly to convert Euro-spec car to meet US regulation, and EU selling price is substantially higher.
Not to mention the car would travel from the US, to europe, then go back to the US.. probably cheaper to just bribe someone in the factory to install wrong engine to your car

Yes, that's right. It's theoretically possible, but it's not really done due to the cost of making the car meet US regulations, plus starting with a car that costs more from the beginning.

Well drove it home (Great 39MPG) all going well after waiting 6 hours for them to prepare it. Put it in the garage restarted it and the steering warning came up and I could NOT move the wheel at all This has happened to another guy and it's the "Steering Module". Needless to say I am so pissed off.

It goes back on a loader tomorrow, I don't want to see it again till all is well.

Bad luck. The engine must have frightened the steering. Seriously really bad luck, you must be really pissed by now (meant with the UK meaning!),
