M Sports Suspension Delete - or Not

I've opted for M sports suspension DELETE as I am/was assuming I'll get too firm a ride otherwise. It will be on the m 18" rft and no vdc or vss.

Still not 100% sure if I should leave it in or delete?

I think Sfax has sports sus+19" rims & it seems to be fine. BMW's sports suspension (or m-tech, depending on mdl) nowadays seems to be softer riding than before.

Doesn't the selection of MSport automatically delete the sports suspension? I have both MSport and DCC and have no problem at all with the feel of the suspension in "Normal" modes for daily use.

UK std suspension is I believe firmer than NA cars. Also UK M Sport does not the UK delete sport suspension in the UK.

I'm keeping sport sus on my order but I'd prefer to live with too hard than too soft. The std sus on 17's was good (2 days ago I borrowed a 2.0D SE) though in the end I think it would be a trace soft for me. Sfax view persuaded me to keep with it.

Correct - M Sport 20d does not delete sport suspension in the UK (only if you add vdc I believe ?)

I know standard will be fine, but will sport suspension be better that fine - personal preference, though I wont get to compare before build week.

Torzeck,
How did you special order the sport suspension in the U.S.? Did you have to work hard with your dealer on this? Did BMWNA make a fuss over this?
thanks.

It's very subjective and no doubt standard suspension would be softer over bumps but I'm very happy with sports suspension 19s servo and perf control. I was apprehensive waiting but pleased with the decision. No complaints from wife or passengers so far. You need to factor in the difference it makes to the steering as some people complain that VDC normal, and maybe standard with some rims is a little too floaty. I've come from a GTI with low profile tyres so I may not be the best judge but it's certainly never uncomfortable. Would be useful to get some more opinions from other XBimmers with sports sus and 18s/19s

Thanks all for the replies. It is subjective and I'm only qualified to take others good avdvise and experience. If there is not big difference and sports susp is deemed ok, my inclination would be to go with it rather than not. More views welcome.

Max, likewise (to Sfax) I'm coming from a hard sprung car with super low profile RFTs so my comparison is with this, though we alos have a RAV4.

If u opt for VDC & set it to "normal" setting then all u'll get is just different damping rates compared to the sports sus as both use identical springs & anti-roll bars.

U can delete it in UK via option code 225. VDC doesn't really delete 226 as both use identical springs & anti-roll bars - only difference are the dampers.

Sports Suspension now back on. With 18" rims it should be fine. Also maintains the intergrity of the m sports build for resale. Dealer agreed and made the change.
