Talking Bring on the snow...here's our winter set-up

Here are the details: 18" Replika Wheels R109A M6 replica rims with Yokohama W-Drive winter tires. We paid $680 CDN for the rims and $700 for the gently used tires; (thanks to a nice elderly couple that wrote their 7 series off last summer!) Very happy with the look!

The first snow has come and gone here. Made a road trip back from Virginia to Phila through the cold driving rain and then snow on Saturday. I went with a set of Pirelli Sottozero. First test was a pass. You're looking good. Bring on the snow!

That HDR, while nice, is over-aggressive. Tone it down a bit and repost. I like the composition though.

Here is a non-hdr photo and a crop of the wheel from that photo.

Nice setup

The wheels show off the brakes quite nicely too, albeit the calipers are plain-Jane. I love seeing these enormous SUVs out there with their enormous rims highlighting just how tiny the brakes lurking behind are...

Looks good, Clarka, same color as mine. Going in tomorrow to get 18" BMW OEM 308 wheels and Dunlop WinterSport 3Ds.

The 19" wheels do look better than the 18"ers, IMO. 17" would sure look small in those wheel wells.

The 19" do look better but we couldn't pass on the used 18" tires... Great price and about 1000 km on them.

I also like that the interior of the rims are black. It hides the famous BMW brake dust!

nice pic, sent it to my wife to get her excited about our M Sport VRed that we are picking up tonight.

How is the ride with 18" winter tires vs the M Sport 19"? (assuming you had 19" wheels with the all-season/summer tires)

Love the color wheel combo.

I'll let you know tomorrow as I am having 18" BMW 308 wheels put on with my winter tires.

I have about 1 hour of driving on them, all in town. I can't say that I have noticed anything overly different. I haven't had it on the highway yet.

Great Look - M-Package, V-Red and the Rims. I like it.

Best from Germany ( no snow in sight so far )

Anyone know or seen a oem or replica version of these M6 rims in 20" that will fit the x3?

If I can figure out if they fit properly my plan is to get the 20" for summertime

I originally had a 35i with the 18" 308s until June. The ride was quite compliant, yet unsurprisingly nimble.

That car was lemoned, though, and I ordered the 19" 309s the second time around, complimentary of the dealership for my troubles. The ride is definitely a bit more "rigid," if I could even say that. I will say that Chicago roads are brutal, snow or sweat, so I definitely experience the low-end of ride comfort characterizations.

Spartanburg messed up and and spec'd the staggered summer performance tires (245/45F, 275/40R) instead of the all seasons (245/45F, 245/45R). The lowest recommended PSI for the staggered tires is 31F and 35R, but for the all seasons it's 31F and 31R, so I hope I will experience slightly less jarring ride quality when the all seasons I actually paid for come in to the service department.

I know I should probably just pay for the staggered set and get some winter wheels, but I don't want to sacrifice that short wheelbase, large rim look during the winter. It looks too good.

Can you take front and rear direct head on profile pics? Flush or sunk in or sticking out from the fender? Also offset and wheel specs?

Looks deadly

I have the same wheels and will have them put on next week. I believe the M6 reps are 35 or 38 offset?
