Confused about SportMode in Menu

I have a 2011 x3 35i. I just picked up from BMW. They had to replace a few things including the gear shifter. They had to reprogram/update the software for this and there is now a new option under settings that was not there before. It's called "sportMode". (I don't have the option to manually switch bettween comport/sport/eco). The options under it are "chassis", "drivetrain", or "chassis and drivetrain". I'm not sure I notice anything different when switching between them . . . Anyone know about this menu option? I thought maybe it only takes affect when moving the shifter to sport mode but not sure I notice any difference there either . . . .

Does your 35i have the Dynamic Handling Package, aka DHP, option code ZDH?

I believe so. It has the silver on the steering wheel which I believe means it has that.

Sorry, but that doesn't tell you anything about DHP. Unless it has the fittings on the shocks then it doesn't have DHP. How about Sports Activity Package, option code ZAP? Got paddle shifters?

hmmmm . . . well then, I'm not sure. It does not have paddle shifters. It does not have the rocker button to switch from eco to comfort to sport mode . . . I'm mostly just confused because this option was not in "settings" until I got it back from being serviced.

I have a 2011 2.8. Went in for service one day, came out with this very same "option". I don't have paddle shifters, DHP, sports mode button...none of it. As far as I can tell, doesn't do squat.
