Clear coat peeling off wheels on '13 X3!

Anyone else had this issue on a 1 year old X3? Would this be a warranty issue?

Yes had exactly the same problem after 11 months. Took it back to dealer and all 4 wheels replaced under warranty.

They replaced all 4 wheels if only one wheel had the problem?

Do you have a picture of your peeling wheels? I'm curious as to what this looks like. I might have that happening to mine...

I had tHis with a Toyota a couple of years ago. They kept replacing the wheels, unless/until they were rim damaged. In which case they were yours forever.
Be careful with those kerbs.

Anyone else aware of this happening? I take it in on Fri but just curious, it looks like they may have them 'repaired' since I have a wheel/tire extended warranty but shouldn't BMW be able to replace them under their original new vehicle warranty provided by them? Any advice...

I need some input from anyone that has had BMW wheels replaced under warranty. I'm being told that the Service Mgr has contacted BMW since alloy wheels are not normally covered under warranty. They have been "repaired" once already.

ALL components, except e.g. windshield wiper blades are covered by warranty. That does include alloy rims - if not damaged.

The peeling is obviously from an incorrect clear coating process - BMW/supplier should replace. They might claim that you have used high pressure hose or aggressive cleaner - don`t buy that.

Last update:

All (4) 308 alloys replaced under warranty. I had new tires installed and 4 wheel alignment performed. Dealer was great to deal with and did all as requested with no charge.
