Better use of OBD port - Cheap HUD!

Well I have just purchased from Ebay a Bluetooth ODB port connector.
Downloaded the amazing "Torque" app to my Samsung Note smart phone (Sorry does not work on Iphones) and am really impressed by how easy and clever it is!

You get all the OBD information on the phone, can review errors, reset faults, email details to your self - also turns the phone into a HUD! (of sorts)

For the cost it seems a bargain - the connector also works with laptops etc so it will have many uses and much easier to use than a cable!

Can you post any pics of the app. Probably all Iphone users on the forum
I have Galaxy S2 so might give it a go if it's cheap. I wonder if you can code the X3 via the same bluetooth interface?

is the OBD connector - it comes with software which can be used with a laptop.

The app is http://torque-bhp.com/

I have a galaxy Note so the larger screen works really well.

You need to set the kerb weight & engine size and everything else is set.

The paid for app also provides additional features for timings etc (eg 0-60mph!)

Have also tested the set-up on 3 other cars and it works great with them too.

I recently bought this tiny little OBD II scanner:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISA...#ht_6010wt_918

Works fine with Torque. And itīs not in the way for the legs when entering car. Isīs practically flush with the interior.

The size of the unit is not an issue, the smaller one is neat, but neither are in the way as the door access is not a problem. Some units are sold from China and take several weeks to arrive.

It is the functionality the system brings that is being highlighted. With an Android phone the Torque app is very useful.
