Tint on X3
Does the X3 come with privacy glass - tint on the rear windows? Our X3 arrived at the dealership today, we are picking it up tomorrow and the guy tinting the windows asked this question. If options matter, here is what we are getting:
xDrive 28i Sports Activity Convenience Premium Technology Sat Hi-Fi The dealership was going to charge $299 and that is without me knowing what kind of tint it is. A local shop (I'm probably going to use him for the clear bra on my 128) starts at $169, but I will be able to discuss and know what kind of tint it is. What do you think about putting a clear bra on a leased vehicle? |

From my experience no, unless you are fanatical about keeping it looking clean during its term in your hands. Rock chips/dents up to a certain size are acceptable at lease end return, so personally I won't bother...but I also don't like clear bras.

Where's that photo of Dale Bozio when I need it....
Anyway, regarding the clear bra, it depends a lot on the color and style of the vehicle - but mostly it depends on the quality of the install. I had a clear bra on my E90 for four years and usually had to point it out to people or they couldn't see it. If they had the patterns ready for the F25 M Sport I would have it on in a minute.

Yes there is privacy glass on canadian models but its not dark at all. I used medium (20%) from tint king on all windows which give the effect i was looking for. medium tint driver and passenger and heavy tint for all rear windows. Looks awesome

Sun protection glazing is an option here roughly costing AU$760. Dark Tinted glass (Darkest based on Australian legal standard) from B pillar backwards. They say it's got UV protection but I still got sunblinds for the kids and to keep the glare off their gadgets.

If you have a lighter car, darker tints look nice. They made mine very dark in the back, and rear windows. Looks VERY good, at first I wasn't happy they went darker then what I told them, but now, I love it..

If the interior is dark put the paper on your windows more lighter that you can, you can go at any store where instal sound or wheels and that people put tint in your windows, for the front windows you don't gonna pay more seventy dollars.
