I'd normally agree...but for that one Grand Cherokee that I watched get itself stuck in a small snow bank. Poor guy tried everything, but the combo of budget AWD, A/S tires and a traction control system that wouldn't fully disengage (could've been user error) left him furious that he couldn't get out "with a Jeep, no less".

Agree that there are no magic bullets and that off-roading is best done in properly prepared cars, regardless of the make (LR not withstanding, they're almost all properly prepared).
