What External HD is being used for music?
I've thrown a couple of older laptop HD's in external cases. One played in the X3 fine, but didn't sync well to the desktop. The other sync'd but didn't play in the X3. So now I'm thinking about purchasing an all in one.
What brand/type/size is successfully playing in the X3? Any of them able to sync in WMP 12? Or just drag and drop? Thanks Last edited by Radioactive; 06-14-2012 at 01:17 PM.. |

I have a 500GB, but I can't remember if it was seagate or wd. I attach to the pc and run windows media (it is pointing to the hard drive for storage). I plug it straight into the usb of the x3 and it works. Dragging music on the the drive (mp3s my wife purchased. I hate mp3s) works. I have a lot of music on there so it takes time for it to go through the drive and index. The x3 also recognizes Windows Media playlists.

I have a 500Gb 5200rpm drive that works off the USB in the centre console. There are ~25,000 songs on it. It does take a while to spin up and sometimes it reloads all the songs. It is a bit flaky.
I'm using a Mac and don't use the playlists feature. But when you get it on random on a long drive it is cool. You never know what song is going to come up next. |
