New Connected Drive Interface
Last weekend I noticed a few connected drive online interface made it's way into the car. It looked slick but the search function for businesses seems to be more complicated than before - other than that it looks much more pleasing. My question is whether this update did anything to the car or if the entire interface gets downloaded every time I command the online thing. Seems pretty laborious if so...

Same here. I imagine that the front page is loaded when you click in BMW online and that they changed it. I don't see any difference in function.

It has changed in the UK too (I don't use it that much but it's definitely different)
this looks different and I've not seen this before - need to set up some better RSS feeds

I have no idea, actually. I know I have to pay for it, though, with BMW Assist/Concierge. I have the 6NR multimedia feature as well as Nav.

so you need BMW Apps and the concierge service from BMW assist to make this all work? - or just the concierge service?
I don't have BMW Apps - or an iphone but may be interested in a future retrofit.

You don't need 6NR for Google Local Search and the BMW Online stuff in the pictures above. My X3 has it and was produced before 6NR was released. You just need pro nav (big screen) and a subscription to BMW Assist. This is all part of one pro multimedia package in the UK which I think is similar to the tech package in the US

Thanks - in the US there is 2 levels of BMW assist - the higher level one which supports all this is called convenience plan - 199USD/yr - i am now very tempted to turn it on for a year so I can play w/ BMW online.
The safety plan which comes w/ emergency calling, collision notification, SOS, stolen vehicle recovery is included for 4 years. I think this is more of what I want than 6NR anyway.

Today I checked the connecteddrive info page.
http://www.connecteddrive.info/index...emid=22&tagGid[category]=&cp_category=&tagGid[1]=&cp_1=&tagGid[3]=&cp_3=&tagGid[5]=&cp_5=&tagGid[6]=&cp_6=&tagGid[7]=&cp_7=&tagGid[x]=&cp_x=e83&tagGid[z4]=&cp_z4=&tagGid[m]=&cp_m=&tagGid[alle]=&cp_alle=&tagGid[verfuegbar]=&cp_verfuegbar=ch&tagGid[zukuft]=&cp_zukuft= Does anyone know why you can get the x3 with speed limit information and lane departure warning? (at least in europe it does, i saw in the US it is without speed limit info). According to this site it does. However according to the current X3 option list, these options are not available yet. Did i miss something? Is this planned for the near future? I ordered the HUD and if possible i would like to add the speed limit info with camera as well. What do you think? Cheers
