DISA Valve Replacement

Right DISA Valve for my 2011 X3 28i failed after 180,000km.
I opened it up after removing it from intake and it was full of oil inside.

To replace it, this is my reference.

DISA valve can't be removed without disconnecting the CCV pipe.
It is on the way out so I had to disconnect it then remove it.
Here are some pictures from the work.

Remove this connector. it's not easy but it is still doable.

It took 5 hours to finish up.

How did you know it failed? When I run an active test on both units I get "failed" for both. I don't want to replace if they are working, but the electrical cable is actually what's bad.

I do not remeber the code that indicate the issue of the DISA valve.

Did the replacement last for you? I wanted to make sure I clean out the oil that got into the intake and prevent it from happening again if I can. I assumed it would be an issue with the CCV pipe.

it works

Yes, mine last at least 40K without any issue.
I do not own it anymore so I can't tell you how long it will last.

Thanks, appreciate it. When I called BMW parts they told me the vehicle would need coded after the replacement. I think they just meant wiping the DME adaptations, did you have to do anything else?
