Canadian model X3, and I have the bluetooth/hands free (Code: 6NH). I also have the Y cable, and a 30-pin to lightning adapter for my iPhone 5.

But for the life of me, can't figure out what (if anything) I'm supposed to be able to do with this button:



It doesn't seem to trigger Siri, or any sort of text to speech, is it supposed to? Or just a filler button for the other audio packages?

Do you get an audible ding when you press the button? Try giving it a voice command such as "Channel 162" to tune your satellite radio to CBC3, or "Route Information" to show the turns that will be coming up on your current Nav route.

Bingo!

I have the same model (Canadian X3 w/6NH) and it doesn't do anything when you hold it. I believe you need the technology package to get voice control, but they use the same steering wheel.

"lightning adapter". Even with that, an iPhone won't have a battery that last more than 6 hours.

Mine works. Basic dialing functionality. With extended bluetooth you can use it to switch stations, etc
