I changed out the mirrors on my 05 S2000 and it made a nice difference. May have to change out the X3 mirrors.

...another Q,
Is there additional glare from cars behind at night with the mirror?... The stock wing mirrors don't auto dim worth a damn.

A: It is not about the mirror, but about the coding. BMW in MY 2012 (?) and for sure in 2013 changed the sensitivity of the dimming. People complained a lot that they can't see anything, so BMW "fixed" it by going the other way . It is fixable though by your friendly neighborhood BMW dealer.

Nop nothing on the coding discussions to fix the mirror glare. So it isn't a problem with those mirrors?

Aspherical side mirrors.
Hey guys,
My 2013 X3 F25 is a base model, so I don't think it has heated dimming mirrors (I don't see any additional buttons to turn those features on). Was this part of a package that you had to select when you bought the car? Anyways, I don't think I have those features, but I would like to buy aspherical side mirrors. I had some on my Volkswagen, and loved them. Does anyone know of part numbers for regular aspherical mirrors (no heat or dimming)? Do they even exist? |

Not to be a jerk either, but my manual also goes over heated steering wheel (which I do NOT have), and folding side mirrors (which I also do NOT have - no button). So how do I know if mine came with the capability to heat while the engine is running?
All you had to say is that EVERY BMW, regardless of trim or package comes with heated side mirrors. I'm only assuming mine has them now. Mine is a base model which has next to nothing added. I have a sunroof and heated front seats, but that's about it. So if all of them have heated side mirrors, This is good info to have in a forum for others to know. Lets play nice. |
