So it arrived
After 9 long months I collected my X3 on Saturday.
2.0D SE with a few options. Impressions so far are as expected really. Wasn't sure if I'd get the latest model year, but I did so have ECO CONTROL which just makes the car feel even slower, handy for activating when you have cruise control on but probably too frustating for anything else. Didn't get any nav so finding the screen a bit of a waste. Steering wheel was a disapointment as thought the sport option would be a bit thicker than it is but its not the end of the world. Also trying to work out where the 12 speakers of the 676 option as I only seem to be able to count 5! Otherwise happy there are no squeaks/rattles (touch wood) and there doesnt seem to be an issue with road noise either. Must say that the quality of the plastic on the front doors (at the bottom where the cubby hole is) is simply shocking. Can't for the life of me understand why BMW think that is acceptable for a 30k+ car. Sorry for the rubbish picture. Last edited by gareth3685; 04-29-2012 at 03:08 PM.. |

It doesn't look like the weather is cooperating for pictures.
I agree the EcoPro may find some usefulness while using cruise control. ...and what the hell... 9 months! That is ridiculous! |

9 months ... That must have been deflating... Look at the bright side.. During the wait most of the "issues" with the x3 were being hammered out.. You get the latest model refined!

So basically you're telling me that they ignored the order for about 7-8 months then put it through and you got it within a month of it being manufactured since it's a MY13. That's just not right.
No wonder the UK guys are upset over delivery times. Congrats and enjoy.. finally

Man, this thread sounds a little glum.
I say it looks great {Ok, Im biased as I have space grey as well}. Congrats. You'll love it. Yeah, the door bins are crap but its a utility vehicle so you can beat the crap out of them and not worry. Take some more pics when the weather's better or go out and play in the mud now and take some insitu pics. |

The speakers in the 676 option has the following speakers: 2 in each door. One mid-sized in the lower parts, and one small right next to the handle. That's eight.. Then you should have 2 on top of the dash in the middle. Then you have 10. Then you have 1 small "sub" like speaker underneath each front seat. There you go....12. |

I know it does, wasn't intentional however maybe there was a hint of anti-climax after that massive wait Last edited by gareth3685; 04-30-2012 at 03:48 AM.. |
