Just brought home my '14 X3. Need some Help
I just brought home my first BMW X3 and I have some question that I forgot to ask the dealership.
1. My car came with Navigation and I thought I ordered Sat. Radio. I called Siri and they said I had a free year with my VIN number. I couldn't see the option anywhere. I called the dealership and they told me that I didn't order Satellite (although I did). It must be satellite ready or something. My question is, has anyone else encountered this before and how do I get the satellite actually hooked up? 2. Y Cable for iphone - Is this what is needed to get the phone to charge in the car? If I just plug it in the usb drive with a regular cable, it just goes crazy. 3. The engine going quite at full stop. Is this some sort of eco feature? I come to a red light and when it turns green, it sounds like the engine starts up again. That is actually conserving fuel? Thanks for all your help |

hey jdylan, welcome.
1. go to sat.radio website to register and activate and you will have the sat ratio. It comes with 1 year free sub 2. I couldn't figure this out for a while, and it is actually quite easy. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone and it will sync perfectly. 3. That is a new tech to save gas called stop/start tech. Mercedes has it too. |

Right next to the start/stop button, there is another button that disables the the start-stop function. Whenever I start the engine, I press deactivate button. When deactivated, an orange LED comes on to signify that the feature is switched off.

2. Make sure you are plugging the standard USB cable into the console connection. The glove box is for HD loading only.
3. The stop/start does take some getting used to but it does save fuel. I disable it by the button next to the Start button at times, especially in traffic only moving a few feet at a time.

The start/stop function on the 14' only reverts to active in eco pro.
If you disable (light on) in comfort, sport or sport + by pushing the button next to the start button it will stay in the off position. Remember, light on, start/stop disabled. You have sat radio, you just need to activate. |

Thanks ghostdog. I called siri and activated it but it still isn't showing up. I called the dealership and they said I didn't order siri with my car. It looks as though some software needs to be installed just to get it going. As of now, siri is nowhere to be found in my car. |

I don't think I got the premium package. I did get the technology package which I am seeing now that it doesn't come with Sat. radio which seems criminal. I called Siri up and they said that the vin # associated with my car definitely has it but it doesn't. The question is.... how do I get it?
