How to remove break fluid cover
Hi Folks, mine 2017 x3 has brake light is on and i m struggling to remove the brake fluid cover. The problem is to with wires attached to this unit. I m afraid breaking it if I use too much force.
Pls see the picture attached. Can anyone pls help |

All video i could find online seems without that black cables attached to top. This uk model has brake fluid tank on driver side or on left hand side with two cables running on top. I believe these probably needs to detached before panel pops up. |

That's a right-hand drive X3. I noticed there are two items going t the hood or bonnet. I will assume one is for the washer fluid but I am puzzled as to what the second one is for.
Also, removing the cover is easy. Just move out of the way of the lines going to the hood, move forward the foam divider on the lower right toward the front of the car, and then press on the scissor-like pinch clips and pull up. Last edited by MSport_Jon; 08-17-2022 at 09:00 AM.. |

The second one is the wiring for the heated washer nozzles. They both pop out the "front" of that cover and it lifts around them. At least it does on mine.

On LHD cars, the cabin filter is in that position. This video will start the same as your job.
