Well call from my dealer today saying that my car expected anyday now, they are encountering a few issues getting cars through so are lining up a couple of transporters should they need to get them up here fast, aim is for me to collect Tuesday ideally but it may not achieve that.

My dealer sent me an email in which he stated " your new car is still on board. I hope it will be next week in Germany"

Status is "165 Transit from USA to Bremerhaven" , dated 5 march 2015 (hard to believe, for my car was built the 3rd).

(It is not visible for me at WW track n trace, but I understand that is not unusual).

So presumably some of you have now exceeded my LCI wait record. Ordered 4 May 2014, delivered 20 Jan 2015 which is 262 days.

With no confirmed delivery date yet

Is your dealer collecting the car direct from the docks or is it going to Thorne first ?

I'm not 100% sure to be honest he said they were waiting for 7 cars not all x3's

Well mine has left the factory it has been consigned whatever that means ... Dealer reckons last week in April !

Ordered mine on the 28th September 2014 so I think its up to 188 days at the end of this month and I haven't even had confirmation its being built yet, was supposed to be w/c 5th March this then changed to this week but this hasn't been confirmed. It better be worth the wait.

What colour/spec 3 series have you got ? I assume that is a big leap forward over the 1 series

She's got an estoril blue/oyster leather 320d m sport xdrive auto, it's a lovely thing as we put vis pack and a few bits on and they have nav as standard now too. The one thing I really like it has ambient lighting in all 4 interior doors (it's a led strip running through it looks fab)

That does sound very nice .. Lovely colour combo .. If I hadn't gone for the X3 then that is the car I would have bought and been quite happy with

I went through a stage of possibly swapping my x3 order for a 330d touring, but I'd waited that long it seemed daft.

Yes two nice cars indeed, the dog will be travelling in style! Ha ha

I thought about the 330d touring but my darling wife said "isn't that an estate car" that Rep's use. Enough said!
I'm 100% certain that it's an X3 for me, very soon I hope.

And that is the problem

As awesome as the 3 is .. They are everywhere

As we know there is an element of exclusivity in the X3 .. Well as far as any mass produced car goes

I did a tour of the North a few weeks ago and saw hundreds of 3's

But I only saw 2 X3 LCI and a couple of pre LCI models

That's part of the reason I went x3 (to be honest I really wanted an x4 but they are macan money and I'd rather have that other than the 18 month wait)

I think I've seen maybe 7 or 8 lci x3's and I drive past a bmw dealer every day as its round the corner from work

That's a pain ... But I'm sure they will be moving heaven and earth to get in delivered this quarter, so at least they will be trying

He reckoned it was still at sea which looking at the shipping schedule that says next one to land in Southampton is the 5th April but that may be a interpretation thing it may not literally be at sea.
