Business nav features

Folks

Sat in a new car today with pro nav .. In a word it is quite awesome in the quality of the graphics and the speed and has a x drive status in the sub menu

Far nicer than my 2011 pro nav

I haven't upgraded the nav in my new x3 (yet) and have the standard nav coming ..

So anyone with the business nav can tell me whether the screen quality is up there with the pro nav ?

Whether it has the x drive displays ?

Whether it will do perspective view and show directions alongside the map in the main screen ?

Or do I reach deeper into my pockets ?

Ta

Andy

You also get the small TFT strip across the bottom of the main instrument cluster that is quite neat. Can display things like the compass, scrolling radio station names, arrow naviagation and road names (like the HUD basically) and other useful info that can be configured from the menu.

Also get 20gb of hard drive storage space for music. Don't know whether the business version offers that too.

The X Drive display is good at first, but soon turned it off - can be a distraction and not sure it's that useful.

However, there's a nice app that displays photos taken by people of the area you are driving through which I have running on the split screen.

I think it's a case of the Business version is more than sufficient for day to day driving, but once you have the Pro you won't want to go back (like everything else).

The business nav in our LCI can do perspective mode and you can show the directions in the right-hand sidebar

I can't say if the screen is the same quality as the pro nav in the F25 LCI but, apart from the size, it's as good as the pro-nav screen in our 61 plate 118d F20 was

Compared to the F20, the speed is similar, the F20 was HDD-based, not sure about the F25, but the business nav in the F25 appears to startup just as fast

The X-Drive info screen is available via iDrive

I think....but not sure...but you need ProNav to get internet, or something like BMW Connected Drive to get the phone module.
