is '12 Premium Package Crucial?

Trying to save a couple of $$ here.. Of all the things Premium comes with

Universal garage-door opener
-- Panoramic moonroof
-- Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors
-- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
-- Lumbar support
-- Storage package
-- Ambience lighting
-- Nevada leather

besides the moonroof (which I can order separately) what else is a must-have??

what is the storage package?

and do you ever notice the dimming mirrors?

thanks!

Auto dimming rear view mirror is useful, leather essential IMO on a car costing this much

Ambience lighting is cool. Storage package gets mixed reviews, search extended storage

I have lumbar support but don't really use it. You should try it out first

None of it essential unless you think it is. To me, leather and the lumbar adjustment are both non-negotiable.

Besides what you listed above I thought I heard that the convenience package became part of the premium package for 2012.

If you don't get leather, what do you get?

Is it just fake leather? Or cloth?

Anyone have?

Leather is NOT essential at all, the option's necessity is totally objective. I prefer that no animals were killed for my seats nor do I want to sit on dead skin stitched together. With that said the non leather option is a leatherette which is cheaper and basically looks the same...which is what I will go with. No other company that we were looking at offered a non leather option for their car (hence another reason why BMW is our choice, on top of countless other things this car offers!)

OP I assume this for the 28i? Because the pan. Moonroof in included in 2012s 35s.

The auto dimming feature is possibly the best one in that list, it's incredibly useful in any car IMO.

Again all of those things are up to the users preference so the ultimate decision is yours.

Universal garage-door opener - A must have for me.

-- Panoramic moonroof - I Never use it

-- Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors- Great feature! Works really good.

-- Lumbar support - I find it very comfortable on long trips

-- Storage package - Needed this to get the rails for my interior bike rack

-- Ambience lighting - Looks good, not needed

-- Nevada leather - I had problems with the non-leather seats in my old X3 wearing out after 5 years. Went with leather this time.

Initially I was not going to get the PP. One reason I changed my mind is that you will not get wood trim without it. You get a mat silver colored trim. The wood combined with leather and the other features made a PP a must-have for me.
