304 non-run-flats will save you money initially and going forward because they have better mpg and are cheaper to replace, probably less likely to get a puncture. The smaller rims will also improve the ride comfort. Comfort over style.
Hard choice for sure. 307 WITHOUT Runflat would have be a nice compromize.

You know once we all get our cars (2013/14?) we should all meet up for a soft drink. Feel we have all been on a journey. Fancy parking them all together to spell something appropriate from above!

Hi there,

Dealer update...delivery due on week 29..July 18th.... Woohoo...fingers crossed... no unexpected delays hopefully. Although still a good 4 months off makes my swapping dealers all the more worthwhile as original dealer delivery was a vague September/October time....

Smart move. Well played. Look at it as just under 3 and a half months

Thanks guys...also will be getting back to the dealer to ask about the internet 614 option. Will update in the relevant forum if any new developments that haven't already been discussed.

Whats with BMW and adding options piecemeal?? Luckily had time to add 6NR on top off promedia and now this 614 comes along.... Why on earth can't they bundle altogether as a 'Online Package etc' from the very onset or atleast leave the option for a retro fit

I think that internet was initially planned with the pro multimedia package but some of this stuff was probably delayed. 6NR is a bit different as it's only of any use to iPhone users. They'd also prefer you to buy a new BMW than retrofit

Remember the pictures.

By the way I have just recieved an email from the dealers. "Regarding your car, It’s going fixed Monday". In other words I can't change anything now without risking the build date which I have been given as week 20.

Just enough time to go Auto!

Funny how the Americans want manual and most of us this side of the pond go Auto (I guess its the grass is always greener thing). Never had auto before in my own car (wife only drives auto) will my left leg waste away and go weak & skinny?

I'm still trying to decide. Have manual on my order at the moment but spent a couple of hours in an auto on Saturday. Very impressive. And to be honest, I can't see the auto engine off feature ever kicking in for me in a manual - hardly ever slip into neutral when queuing.
Having another go in a manual in a couple of weeks and will decide then but it would be easier if the auto wasn't so pricey!

Thanks Pugger. Hugely useful for those of us just behind you in the queue trying to guess our decision timelines. Thanks.

Re. auto / manual. I was going to buy a manual and was expecting the auto to suffer confusion like Audis I have driven. I test drove an auto and a manual and loved the auto. Completely changed my opinion.

1600 miles in and no regrets but I don't dislike the manual at all. I thought it was great. I just preferred the auto.

As Bustofa points out, stop start must kick in a lot less in a manual BUT I still think the manual will be more fuel efficient than the auto despite this

The auto was fantastic, a great peice of engineering no doubts however for my own safety its the manual for me, besides the £1500 has gone to a few more buttons to fiddle with.

I'm sure you're right but I was quite impressed with the mpg on the auto demo I drove on Saturday. As I mentioned in another thread, it was showing more than 37 over about 4200 miles. Now I wouldn't be happy with that but for a demo I didn't think it was too bad, especially if it been driven like I drove it!
