White Coronas?
Hi,
Just ordered new X3 with xenons for delivery in March 2012. Does anyone know if the corona rings will be white or yellow? Cheers Rick |

They're LED. They have a 'pink-ish' tint to them, which I don't love. The non-LED look more dignified and not 'boy-racer' like the LED’s…..imho.

I have a white aura, if that counts for anything.
Sometimes with a pinkish hue, on those days when I'm in touch with my feminine side.

Mine are a "cold" white that's slightly on the "blueish" side. The measured color temp. (via Gossen 3F) of the LED surround ring daytime running lights is 5068 K. and the HID headlights 5193 K., so they're almost a perfect match. Most people with normal color vision would call that pure white.
I love the "boy-racer" look, but then again, I AM an over-age "boy racer". If your LED DRLs look significantly different in color than the HID's they're atypical. If both look "pinkish" you may want to have a vision test for protanopia. Hey, Just noticed I got a promotion in rank. Does this mean I can apply for a military pension soon? I simply don't think the LEDs look good on this car, nor the X5. It's more appropriate in a real M car, a Z or a 3-er - that's all. Having said that, I'm still patiently awaiting my new X3. |

I love the LED's! One of my favorite things on the X! Nothing better than pulling up behind another car/truck and seeing their reflection

I swear people get antsy or are afraid of seeing the 4 white coronas in their rear mirror. It feels like more cars have been getting out of the way/changing lanes ever since I got the X3.

Interesting, happens to me too. Thought I was just imagining it, but likely not....
