Of course, the quoted astronomical "2244%" (2011) increase is relative to Oct. 2010 when the "lame duck" E83 production (and sales) had essentially ended (only 99 "leftover" cars sold) because everyone was waiting for the new F25's to start being produced.
A fairer comparison might be Sept. 2011 (US sales = 1853 units) to October 2011 (US sales = 2321 units) or a increase of 25.2%. A fine increase in sales, especially given the US economy, but not quite the same as 2244%. Since there are approximately 350 US BMW dealerships, that amounts to (6.6) X3's per dealership each month.
