No run flat tires?
I'm mounting a set of M6 replica wheels soon, and the tires I opted for are not run flat. Since there is no spare tire, is it best to keep a can of "fix a flat" in the case of a puncture, or is there a better alternative?

I figured that, but there is really no other option since there isnt a spare correct? (other than having run flat tires, which the new ones are not in my case)

Definitely avoid tire sealent at all costs unless there is absolutely no other choice. ** It is an absolute mess inside the wheel when they go to replace it.
Personally, I'd keep a small air compressor and a tire plug kit. Any leak that slime could fix you can fix with a tire plug. There could be a rare occurance where you get a pin hole leak in the sidewall and in that case I would avoid the tire plug, but in all other cases the plug should work. ** With the above being said, the plug/compressor approach takes a bit more effort and motivation to fix a tire compared to the slime. Not knowing your exact situation maybe slime is your best bet, but just be ready for a potentially faulty TPMS and/or a small cleaning charge tacked to your bill when you have the tire plugged or patched. |
