No of course it is not - photo below shows accident damage:

The damage was confined to bolt-on panels, with no structural damage underneath.

Looks like a simple replacement of the tow eye cover!
Actually I was expecting a lot worse Ian (I realise there could be structural damage, but it doesn't look too severe in this photo).
Either way, at least you now have it back and it all looks good.

I am confuse, the picture only show a missing tow hook cover, no damage other wise.

Where is the damage? I was expecting a huge dent and scratches.

Thanks PeteX3, Scandic24, Peter_R and Flipflop99 for your positive comments!

To the other guys - if you look closely you can see that the front edge of the hood is bent in, but also grills are damaged and front bumper scraped. In addition, both front fenders are slightly bowed and both adaptive headlights have damaged bottom brackets. All of those parts were replaced, therefore the cost of the repair was very high despite the apparent lack of damage. BMW replaced all parts rather than try and repair anything.

It is very nice now and I have had it inspected and there is no fault to find!

I still do not see any damage, certainly not to tune of new headlights, new fenders, new hood and new bumper cover. Maybe the dealer's body shop need the work and they decided to run up the bill for their insurance company. If that was the extent the damage in the picture, you are good to go, there is no serious damage what so ever. Good Luck.

The visibility of the damage to you might be down to.....

The size of the monitor!

or

Your eyesight!

Perhaps both.

I can see most of the damage discussed. The only one I had not noticed was the headlights(s). Probably because of reflections.

I would have spoken with a lawyer to see what recourse you would have. Did they throw in an extended warranty and service for the car? You should have received something good from the trouble and pain that you suffered?

I had considered talking to a lawyer, but that would have been my last resort. Had the repair not been 100% to my satisfaction and the dealer was not prepared to go any further, I would have involved a lawyer.

I would not have been interested in a token service or two and I have already extended the warranty on my car. What I did ask for was an assurance in writing that I would get an exceptional deal when I come to trade in for a new car. I have that assurance in writing, but the proof of it will be when I come buy a new car. Then I might have to get the lawyers in!
