Definitely a contender for my wife's next vehicle. Great MPG!

Did she say 50.4 MPG out of that 2.0d? Or did I hear her wrong?

Properly impressive stuff. If this engine can move the heavy x3 to 62 in 8.5 seconds, imagine what it could do in a 3, or even a 1 series. A ~3200 lb 1er could probably do the run to 62 in about 6.5 seconds while returning 40 mpg in mixed driving. Who can argue with that?

Yes, don't forget it's 'proper' gallons though......

One of the cars I would consider buying if I was over 35 and had two kids and a wife. Really a grat choice for families in any way, with the MPG it gets, even better.

like you said... that engine in the 3... That would be AWESOME.
Now, if they go just a tad bigger (2.5 - 3Liter) and add the turbos... N54 type power with less problem and more torque, lighter and better MPG? now who could argue with THAT?

We already have what you just described, it's called the 335d and it is also properly impressive

You sure it is the twin turbo? Don't think so. I think it's the single turbo. I'm about to place an order for one, production starts in April.

I didn't know you 2 were interested in the new X3. I'll be picking one of these up too but I'm only interested in the 3.0 litre diesel too with a few extra options. If you find out any info about when we can order let me know please! Dealer already has me on the list already but I've been told the 3.0 litre won't be available until at least June and M Sport later in the year.

Why is car in the still shot on this youtube clip (before you press play) not the same car to the one being reviewed in the video?!
