Are the 19" M sport Wheels staggered?

What are the actual specs?

I have a crazy idea that I can use the extra set of stock wheels from my 335xi as snow tire rims.

This is incorrect.

You can option the staggered 622m summer performance (I have them). I forget the option code- but it's in the US ordering guide, reads something like "mixed performance" ("mixed" in BMW lingo means staggered).

The availability of these was the only reason I didn't option the 310s.

Here's the order guide and the relevant page... option code is 2V2, second from the bottom below. You can also see the option on the configurator... though it's not very clear.

My bad. I wasn't being specific but I guess I forgot to mention as standard with the all-seasons.

Got it- just to put this to bed; staggered 19" (8.5" front and 9.5" rear) 622Ms are a $0 cost option (that is available in the US).

I have a pending order for an M Sport with these 19" wheels and it isn't clear to me if it would be better to go with the all-season or the performance tires. I live in South Carolina so there isn't a lot of very cold weather or snow other than a few times a year.

Would you expect one or the other to provide better grip, mileage or tread life?

Staggered add P-zeros and and inch to the rear (275). Far superior set up to the LS2s (for the 35i).

They'll wear a bit faster and won't offer useful traction in cold weather.

+1

Keep in mind, with a staggered set-up, you won't be able to rotate tires.

The consensus is that it is not good policy to rotate tyres.

Yes and no, but let me explain.

I currently run 20" 310Ms with the PZero RFTs. 2 weeks ago, after about 9k miles, my front right tire developed a golf sized welt on the sidewall. Figured I wait until the weekend and take it in so I drove carefully. 2 days later, the tire "popped". I was at a traffic light and heard the rush of air escape while the front right side of the car dipped slightly. TPM goes off. No problem. Drove it around for another day and went to the dealer that weekend. Well it wasn't difficult to see that IMO, not only did I need to replace the tire that failed, but I also needed to replace the front left tire as well due to wear (yeah...I know lol). I probably didn't have to but I didn't want a brand new RTF running along side a 9k-10k worn tire. The tire insurance covered the failed tire. I paid for the other one.

If it was a non-staggered set up, I still would have gotten the 2 tires, but I would put them on the rear. If I had 18k+ on the X3, I would just get a whole new set, in either situation.

So, would I rotate tires for the sake of getting extra mileage / wear? No. Would I rotate the tires in the above circumstance? Yes.

What sucks for me, is I have a brand new pair on the front and a "old" pair on the back, and that bugs the shit out of me lol.
