Some of the rendering kinda looks cartoonish.
weather and google search would be cool though. Anytime you can get better technical specs it's a good thing. I'm not really into the smart phone craze so pictures of people calling me doesn't mean much.

Hmm, I wonder if it would be possible just to buy a new computer unit and swap it in? There was a guy who did a retrofit from non-nav to nav and it all worked, seems like it would be a similar upgrade. In my 2003 Range Rover it had the early CD-based Mk3 nav computer and I upgraded it to the DVD-based Mk4 nav computer and it was an easy swap. Got much better graphics and a vastly improved UI too.

If you keep waiting for whatever the new thing is you'll never buy anything. I see the same thing happen with phones, laptops, tablets, etc. If you think the current item is worth what they're asking, then buy it!

One of the reason i didnt order navi...
The system was already outdated when the x3 was released , slow, crappy graphic and useless functions. This new upgrade makes it worth especially with the Idrive touch panel.. Last edited by X3andZ4owner; 07-14-2012 at 06:32 AM.. |

BMW should make their navi module based so that it can be hardware updated on customers request , the system today is outdated and one can say that the car is outdated when the electronics are out of date.

Cmon people, it's just navigation. My X3 35i still is an incredible driving experience for an SUV. Those are just graphics.
