2018 x4 m40i n55. Ran the car in the heat today to see how the xhp s3 trans tune did. Mods are s2 bm3 e30, plugs, downpipe and intercooler. Terrible DA. Assume there's quite a bit more in better conditions. Anybody else running these time? Share your slips.

For the one or two of you who don't know what DA is, it is density altitude.The lower the number, the denser the air. The best density altitude I experienced when I was racing my E92 335i (N54) was minus 1500 feet. Needless to say, I had a really good track day that day.

I bet! lol I ran some good times in Wisconsin at great lakes dragway in some 40* weather back with my stock '07 shelby gt500 - went 11.8 @ 118 on street tires.

I would imagine this truck might have a 11.99 in it if I found the space to run in good weather conditions.

I'm confused.

Don't the M40i's use the newer B58 engine?

Impressive numbers.. nonetheless.

I just about jumped out of my seat thinking someone obtained these numbers with the N55 engine.

they switched to the b58 for some late model 2018s and beyond. it was a n55 before then.

Thanks for the info. Had no clue.

I read a lot about how certain mods really improve the seat of the pants feel, but it seems like users rarely go through the effort of posting actual performance numbers.

Sadly.. with an older PWG N55 engine, the lack of ethanol fuel in my city [93 Octane is about the best I can get], and a a DA in the ~9800ft range -- I can only dream of such figures.

not sure thats a 11.99 as its gonna fall off up top. this is my f30 awd. based on the mph id say mid low 12?

i just put the charge pipe on my x35i. likely gonna start with the bm3 tune in the next month or so. downpipe and ic some time later. i know the x3 is awesome from a stop, gonna be fun to be fbo and catch people at a light etc

That is interesting. I was under the impression that all Third Gen G01 X3's had the B58 engine, mostly the M40i...
