Here's what I understand.

Maintenance Program: BMW's 4 year/ 50K mile maintenance program is still being offered (and it is fully transferable for 2014 or earlier BMW models). However, for 2015-2016 BMW models that were purchased on or after July 1, 2014, the program is no longer transferable if the car is re-sold (exception if transferred/re-sold to family members).

Warrantee Program: There is no change to the 4 year/50K mile warrantee program (and it is fully transferable if the car is re-sold/transferred.

Now I am confused and have no idea if you guys were talking about normal free maintenance for 4y/50k miles or an extended maintenance plan
I had never heard that this normal free maintenance was not transferable
The question really relates to the 4/50,000 free maintenance program that automatically comes with the car when purchased new. For 2015 or later models sold as new after mid-2014, this will no longer be transferable for subsequent sales.

Extended maintenance contracts or warranties purchased separately are not impacted by the changes made by BMW. Transferability for those will likely be dependent on how the individual policy is written.

Keep in mind that the extended warranty or maintenance programs (or other services) that dealers pitch you in the finance office are always considered separate purchases from the car itself, regardless of whether you negotiate them as part of the overall purchase price or include them in your financed amount/capitalized cost.

Basically, if it's outside of the formal sticker printed by BMW, it's a separate purchase and is governed by the policies of the service provider.

This is from BMWUSA website. only apply cars sales at USA:

For model year 2015 or later vehicles sold or leased by an authorized BMW center on or after July 1, 2014, BMW Maintenance Program coverage is provided for the exclusive benefit of the initial purchaser, owner, or lessee....BMW Maintenance Program coverage....is not transferable to subsequent purchasers, owners, or lessees.

i believe, for my car, sold in USA, model year 2014, dealer doesn't care you are the initial owner or subsequent owner.

They're not talking about warranty.
I was told the UK doesn't have a free maintenance program nonetheless.

They have a paid for maintenance program covers 50k miles/5 years -"BMW Service Inclusive is available to purchase for a reduced one off, inflation proof payment at any point up to 60 days from first registration of your new BMW and not only offers peace of mind but is also fully transferable to any subsequent owner, potentially enhancing the resale value of your vehicle."

I just bought my car 3 weeks ago from a main dealer. The car was a demonstrator and has covered just 3550 miles. As the first owner was BMW themselves, i enquired about the 5 year maintenance package.
It costs £680 in the UK , so i brokered a deal by getting a £1k discount, on the condition i took the maintenance package from January 2016.

I spent close to £35k on her, and the plan is to keep her 10 years minimum, by which time she will have reached 100,000 miles.

The warranty runs out in Oct 2017, and this package takes me to January 2021. To my way of thinking,it's as close to peace of mind driving as you can get when owning your own car.
It also means IF i were to sell in 5 years time (unforeseen circumstances), then she will have 5 years BMWSH, and make it that much easier to sell.
