Wiper Issues

Hello. I have a 2015 BMW X3 and it's wipers are not very good. They make a lot of noise and skip all the time. In addition, they do not give equal pressure throughout the blade and therefore whenever I spray my windshield when there is salt on it, spots are not touched by the blades. Anyone else having this issue?

It could be that the windshield has picked up some wax from car shampoo. I would try a good car windshield cleaner before doing anything else.

Household glass cleaner does the trick by removing grease and traffic film.

I had to replace my wipers after about 4 1/2 months. Returning from a trip that had nearly constant wiper usage for a couple days, and they started jumping and leaving black marks.

Ended up buying new blades which fixed the problem. I just hope I don't have to replace blades twice a year. I'm to almost 2 years on my other car (not a BMW).

How can you tell? Does your statement show that?

I've been told they won't replace them earlier than 10 months, and when I did my oil change, it was 8 months. When my blades failed, it was under 5 so I had to buy new ones (not my original dealership, but one in the town I was in).

I have trouble with the rear wiper mainly. The centre of it often misses the glass or at least has less pressure applied there. It's ok if the rear window is very wet. It needs a stronger spring. I've had this on pre-LCI and LCI.

if you complain to them they are not cleaning properly they should replace it...even if its 8 months. Its stated on the service sheet you get after the work is done.

I read every paperwork I get and question everything lol
