Fine Anthracite Trim has Fine Scratches already
Ive noticed very fine surface scratches on my trim around the i drive area. Ive only ever used a soft cloth to clean it....has anyone else got them and polished them out ?

Could it be from jewelry? Perhaps a bracelet, ring or watch on the hand that operates iDrive?
My wife did this to my laptop with her bracelet... I liked the look of the Anthracite but I chose aluminum because it makes for a nicer contrast against a black interior. |

I ordered this too, not that my dog will be in the X3 much, but we will be driving all the way across the country in June with her and she likes to perch on the arm rest. Now I'm worried she will scratch the anthracite all up! Making me think now...maybe some 3M or something similar may be a good route...

My Burr trim suffers the same. The varnish is very soft....you just look at it and a scratch appears.

Had the same issues on my last X3. The wood trim is nice but it scratches easily. Current one has aluminum, it's durable but not sure I care for it that much.

My trim is all scratched up too. But I just shrug my shoulders as there's nothing you can do about it.
I don't even know where it's coming from or how it's created. At first I thought it was water spots I wiped up with my cotton towel but it wouldn't come off. And maybe I caused it with the towel. But as long as it's not damaged I can love with the swirl fine line scratches. |

exactly the reason I ordered the Aluminum trim in mine. I've had the gloss wood trims before and they are impossible to keep scratch-free
