No throttle response for 3 seconds?
Hi all,
My 2006 X3 2.0d seems to have developed an annoying, and potentially dangerous, little trait at times. When at roundabouts mainly and in second gear, you put you foot down to exit the roundabout and the car does absolutely nothing, and I mean my foot is on the floor. Then about 3 seconds later it will accelerate. It has done this on the motorway before now too, foot fully to the floor and the car does absolutely nothing for a few seconds before starting to accelerate again as expected. Is my turbo on the way out? Generally the car works well but this throttle thing has crept in and is now a bit more regular than I would like! The MAF was recently replaced and the car was spot on for a while but not it seems to be deteriorating. Cheers, Tom |

hello, when you say it does nothing, do you get non-turbo assisted acceleration, or nothing at all? Nothing at all could be the throttle 'potentiometer' pedal not reading until you've pressed it down far enough to register. It does sound like turbo lag, but I would expect a little acceleration even without the turbo, rather than nothing at all.
