Best buy on run flat tire?
So I just got my first flat run flat tire. Anyone found a good place to get them? I have the Goodyear eagle ls2 245/45/r19. Tire rack has them for 299. Maybe there is a forum discount somewhere? Thanks for the help.

Don't knock yourself out too much searching. The prices are pretty consistent. If you find a cheaper tire, it may well not include mounting and balancing and unless you're doing that yourself the cost will likely end up the same.

Did you tear up the sidewall or drive on it with zero air pressure for way over 50 miles? If you just got a puncture like a screw or nail in the tread, it's likely patchable. |

They don't seem to repair run flats in the UK ... But do in Europe ... Not sure why but I always carry a jar of Vaseline to make it easier.

But in regards to price I go to KwikFit, they always seem to match the best Internet price I find.
The sad thing is, and I guess I shouldn't be surprised ... When the tires were replaced under tire insurance BMW tried to charge me for the difference over the limit of the insurance. I told them if they wanted the business to swallow it otherwise is was no skin off my nose to go somewhere that sold them for a reasonable price which was well within the insurance price bracket. I do hate being so obviously ripped off ...

I discussed the issue with the leasing company. They said there's a fluid released inside the tyre when it's punctured. That's the old Denovo tyre for the 70's not 2012 RFTs!!!! What load of BS, in my case it only cost me time, the leasing company paid for the tyre. Bad business for them but it puts up lease costs for the customer in the end.

How old were the tyres replaced in the BMW insurance? I thought the policy only paid 'part of the replacement cost' ie 'not new for old' |

The tire insurance covers tires which DON'T need replacement due to wear. If they are deemed too worn then they are not covered. Tires are replace new for old.
Only had one claim rejected and the tire was clearly due for replacement! Used my full allocation in the 3 years easily. There are clearly too many nails and screws where I live and drive!
