Question Safe to Drive or Get Towed?

Hey everyone,

My friend borrowed my BMW X3 2012 for the weekend and a series of lights have come up.

Lights
1. Engine oil pressure: Stop Carefully
2. Brake fluid is low
3. Drivetrain

The car has 75k miles on it and is properly maintained. The car was fully inspected 6 months ago with the tires, rotors, and brake pads replaced and all fluids were topped. Additionally, the oil was changed 6 months ago.

My intuition is that this is a computer malfunction and less mechanical issue with the car. My friend is currently driving to an autozone to get the codes run for it.

What do you guys think is the problem and what should my next steps be?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum...

Did they take it on a serious offroad adventure?
I hear ya, 3 unrelated lights coming on at the same time sounds like computer glitch, but the engine oil pressure is the concerning one.

Did the lights come on at the same time? If so, could be the battery going south.

battery low is definite possibility....with that oil pressure light happening I'd be very cautious about driving the car until the codes have been read

Which engine do you have?

Definitely agree on the battery theory, and the need to investigate the oil light further!
