Factory rear window tint percentage?
Hi, I want to match the front driver/pass windows to the rear tinted windows.
Do you know what the factory tint is? I'm in Massachusetts, so the darkest is 35, but it looks a little lighter than that. Here's a pic of my car: Thanks! |

I had asked the same question a little while back, and here are the responses:

I will bring mine tomorrow for tinting. They will check first the tint % and advice on color and type of tint material that will be the same with the factory tint. I used the ceramic type the last time I used their service. Will update this tomorrow.

Just came back from tinting. The current stock % on the rear is 15%. I was quite shock when I heard about it. I was inside the shop when they measured it using some sort of a machine that clings to the glass window. As usual, I used the ceramic material instead of the metallic one. The metallic tint will interfere with the comm inside the car like your cell phone. I also used the same 15% in front and it sure looks sporty. My concern now is that it is way below the legal limit here. Opening the oversize moonroof will helps lighten it up.
