Swapping headlight housings
I have done the following to my F25 2011. My right Xenon non-adaptive headligth glass broke and used the housing of an adaptive Xenon. I transfered the Driver module, Control unit and the two led modules from the non-adaptive. Everything works except the angel eyes and 800F89 error code appears. Is the wiring the problem? Is there any scematic that spots the differences between non-adaptive and adaptive xenon?

I think the main connector wiring is different between non-adaptive vs. the adaptive model. The shape of the housing is identical, but the wires for adaptive vs. non-adaptive are not the same, the adaptive model has more pins in use, and the harness pin assignments are different too.
I did similar thing but the other way - On my 2013 X3 project car (bi-xenon with AFS headlights), the original headlights are destroyed, so I bought cheaper halogen non AFS headlights, connected, but the ECU even can't recognize it, always throw AFS headlight malfunction code, and the headlights won't light on. |

I am trying to check if the problem comes from short ciruit counter. I am using tool 32 but when trying to reset I have "ERROR ECU REQUEST OUT OF RANGE".
Any suggestions? |
