My order has the following line on it ...

FUELN Fuel 88.33 16.67 100

... I guess I am paying £100 for a full tank!

Dunno about BMW ... when we purchased my wife's 135 there were flowers and a bottle of Champaign, but I don’t know if that was because they screwed up the “legal” delivery date.

The friend who go her Evoque the other day found a Teddy Bear, Flowers and bottle of Champaign in the boot … that’s nice.

I collected my F25 with the wife and she was given some flowers. I had to ride with the sales guy to Morrison's and his fuel card to get £50 of diesel before driving off!

I have the choice of 3 of the following 4:

VDC with Performance Control
Sunroof
Xenon Headlights
18 inch runflats (V spoke 307)

Anyone recommend a combination?

My daughter was 2 weeks overdue when born, but this waiting is killing me more!

Just a thought do any UK owners consider a group meetup as a good idea? Say Bristol?

Agreed - Ditch the sunroof - Too many reports of leaking and wind noise.

Can anyone recommend someone who can fit 3M protection film? I'm in the Herts area.

Also, is the paint protection package really worth it? I find it hard to believe that one coat will last 4 years.

Thanks

Is this the one that costs about £300? The guy in the showroom tried to sell me this, said i would think about it, but would like to know if it's worth it also. Its supposed to maintain the 'new' look after every wash.

Yes, that's the one. The dealer is offering it for £300, just seems too good to be true.

Nad, i understand that it is very good on the exterior and interior upholstery, but i'm sure I read some guy bought the product off ebay and applied it himself.

The guys in the showroom get a good commission for selling this stuff though....

Re (Supagard) Paint Protection.
Like others, I wasn't prepared to give the Dealer £300. However with my previous car I was convinced that the treatments do work for about 2 years.

So after research, I bought the Supagard stuff off ebay for less than £10 and did it myself.

This is the one and seller I used, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPAGARD-3...item4ab4ce4abd

The most important part is the preparation. A really good clean and removal of all tar, marks etc, otherwise you seal in the marks!

The actual application is no different to polishing the car. The Supagard sealant comes enclosed in a sponge. You stab the sponge and apply a thin coat to the car, then buff. Job done.

A quick clean and seal as done by the dealer - 1 hour.
A good clean and seal 2-3 hours of your time and save £300.

I am delighted with the result and I am sure that I did a better deep clean than any dealers apprentice would have done.

I have since bought another pack and done the caravan - there was plenty of sealant in the sponge to do an entire caravan.

I will probably repeat the treatment after about 18 months.

Thanks Rogerbu, at £10.99, it's worth doing it yourself, as you say, you know you'll do a better job than any apprentice. Have ordered from that link, thanks.

Week 16 but no update

Its week 16 and have still not heard any updates in terms of order status from the dealer

Anyone else with a scheduled build slot for week 16 had any updates?

The order form says expected delivery as 29th May. I keep waiting

Just been speaking to the dealer and he said my car is up for production week commencing 7th May with an expected delivery of 1st week of June. Placed order on 2nd of march and order form says expected delivery 1st May . This waiting time is killing me.

I have been told that my order has slipped a build week ... no shit!

Actually now I see the screen shot its actually slipped two weeks ...

What I want to know is why ...

I asked the dealer which cars went 5055 as scheduled for week 16 build and he said that the 20D derivatives ... so it looks like the 20Ds are being pushed before the 35Ds ... so much for the myth of 35Ds getting built first ...

All of that doesn't help me ... I need to get ride of my current by the end of May ... looks like I am going to be carless for a while ...

... its starting to grate me more and more that in the US they can just walk into a dealership, order a car and get it 3 weeks later.

Time for a pretty emoticon ... doesn't quite convey how I feel, but it goes some way there ...

I really sympathise with you Horsey and what a terrible blow. I have been waiting since November and whist I re-scheduled to a week 14 build to take advantage of the Drive Performance Control which I learnt was to become standard (which delayed things by 2 weeks), I then had to fight to get it back to wk14 as somehow it had gone out to wk17!. Its been hell waiting. The good news (though little consolation to you) is they seem to have shortened the build-to-delivery time to 3 weeks. The car landed today, and I chose my registration no. this morning; picking up from dealer week today—one happy camper!
