Ambient Lighting??

It seems to me that there is very little ambient lighting in the interior when it's dark. So far I've noticed there's lights on the door handles, door pockets (front seats) other than that I don't see anything else. Is this normal? Or should there be more areas where it should be lite?

Going from memory we have ambient lighting that shines down onto the cup holders and under the dash. I'll check tonight to see if I missed any areas.

Did you get the executive package?

There should be some in the rear foot wells if you do too. There's a very dim red one that shines from the roof switch down on the cup holders... But its VERY dim. Its meant to not distract you while you are driving.

I think I have the cup holder one although very dim. Didn't notice any under the dash. Let me know what you find out tonight. I brought my car in to get 3M so I won't get it back until Monday. Thanks

Yup I have Exec. I noticed light in the rear foot well and the cup holder but for whatever reason in the brochures it seems like there's more ambient lighting. Just want to check I have all the little lights.

I thought the same when I 'reviewed' the ambient light package. You need to turn up the panel light controller to max to really get these ambient lights to 'light up'. Even then they are very dim. The package also includes the 'puddle lights' under the doors so when you open them you can see the ground (if no other lighting near by)

I have noticed in a friends RR Sport the ambient lights in the door handles and door bins are significantly brighter than BMW.

Semantics, but the puddle lights are in the door handles.

There are lights in the door handles, but, like Nahoa, I also have additional lights in the bottom of the doors, below the door pockets.

I was surprised, too. Not really sure why both are better.
