Key fob not working properly (comfort access, remote lock/unlock, engine start)

I just bought a X3 F25 (2011) with around 88K KM mileage and noticed that the key fob is not working properly. I have to pull out the key from the fob and open the door and then touch the key fob to the column to start the engine. Comfort access does not work as well.

I changed batteries on both key fobs and the issue is still not solved.

What's weird is, it works if I bring the key to a specific position near the driver side window (somewhere near the lock on window). I bring they key fob to that position, press the button to unlock the door and then I can even start the car once. If I turn off the car and press the button again, it says remote key not detected.

My FM works fine.

Is it due to my car battery failing? Or could it be the diversity antenna? Please, any help greatly appreciated.

Coming from a Hyundai/Toyota, I feel the electronics in this thing will drive me crazy.
